9th International Conference on Research, Technology and Education of Space "Space changes everything"

May 21-22, 2026, Budapest, Hungary

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) organizes an international conference on space research under the name of H-SPACE 2026. Following the success of previous conferences, this becomes the 9th International Conference on Research, Technology and Education of Space.

The featured topic of this year’s conference is "Space changes everything", however, contributions are not limited to the featured topic. The agenda of the conference addresses scientific, technological, educational, policy and economic aspects of space research and space activities. The conference is open to both international and local professionals. It also provides an opportunity to showcase regional scientific, technological, educational and outreach activities related to space. The conference consists of three main sections, related to Science and Technology, followed by Education and Outreach.

We accept abstracts for oral and poster presentations. All accepted abstracts will be published in the book of abstracts (with ISBN number).

Authors will be asked to submit a full paper which will be published in the official conference proceedings after the conference (with ISBN number). (The previous publications are available on the website of the conference at http://space.bme.hu)

We have a "no show – no paper" policy, which means that only those papers will be published in the conference proceedings whose authors participated at the conference and delivered their presentation (either oral or poster).

The participation is free of charge.

The conference will be a hybrid event. On the first day, we will host in-person presentations (oral and posters) which will be live-streamed for online participants. On the second day, we will host online presentations.
