    5. Required knowledge Pedagogical terms. The structure of teaching and learning processes. Self-regulated learning and learning motivation. New possibilities for teaching and learning in the information technology age. The educational application of networks in vocational education and training.
    Efficient methods of learning. The possibilities of study management. Concepts of learning from ancient times to our days. Prevailing trends in pedagogy. Alternative possibilities. New developments in educational technology, modern media as a technological support of effective presentation. The tendencies of formal and non-formal education The relationship of public education, vocational education and training, and the world of work.

    7. Objectives, learning outcomes and obtained knowledge List and describe the main components of teaching and outline their relationship.

    Describe the teaching / learning process.

    List and describe the main social, economic, technological changes affecting teaching and learning.

    Describe the importance of education in knowledge-based economies.

    Describe the changes in teaching and learning brought about by lifelong learning.

    Describe the relationship of technological development and education.

    List and describe and discuss the main differences between mainstream education and digital learning.

    List and describe the changes in teaching and learning brought about the information and communication technologies.

    Compare traditional education and distance learning.

    Describe the main characteristics of e-learning.

    Describe how digital technologies change the future of teaching and learning.

    List the main features of learning in a virtual environment.

    List and outline the latest developments in education and training.

    Use English for Academic Purposes properly.

    Requirements:

    Although attending the lectures is optional, attendance and active participation is highly recommended as the lectures provide opportunities for discussing relevant issues, and practice the use of English for Academic Purposes. Students will write a summary of min. one course topic related article, will have an oral presentation of abour 10-15 min. about a chosen course-related topic during the semester, and write a paper (essay) of ca 10.000 characters on a related topic (written presentation).

    Assessment:

    Marks are based upon summary, oral presentation and end-of-term paper and the use of English for Academic Purposes.

    Prospective teachers who want to improve their English and who want to study pedagogical issues in English.

    Students who want to study in an English-language program either in Hungary or abroad.

    Students of various fields who want to improve their English to enhance career opportunities.
